What is SAFE?
Strengthen the Asi@Connect Female Network Engineer (SAFE) is a capacity development program for the Female Network/IT Engineers of Developing Country NRENs. Main activitis under SAFE are Survey, Fellowship, Webinar, Training, Workshop, Meetings, Seminars, etc. to strengthen the Female Network/IT Engineers under Asi@Connect NRENs.
About Project
Under the Asi@Connect 3rd Call for proposal CIT PSTU has received a Grant (TEIN*CC Ref: Asi@Connect-19-047) for a Project Title: Strengthen the Asi@Connect Female Network Engineer: A capacity development program for NREN TechGirl and Future IT Girl" under the work package WP3: Capacity Development for the Female of Developing Country NRENs (Train the female technical personnel to design the campus network, routing and switching of the network). The objectives of this project is to strenthen the capacity og fimale technical personel of NREN organizaitions. The beneficiarie countries of this project are Afghanistan (AF), Bangladesh (BD), Bhutan (BT), Cambodia (KH), India (IN), Indonesia (ID), Laos (LA), Myanmar (MM), Malaysia(MY), Nepal (NP), Pakistan(PK), Philippines (PH), Sri Lanka (LK), Thailand (TH), and Vietnam (VN). TEIN*CC/Asi@Connect and BdREN will facilitate the project activities by providing resources and DLE Platforms to manage the capacity development programs. The magor activities are
- 1. Survey on Female Network/IT Engineers under Asi@Connect NRENs
- 2. Providing TechGirl/Future IT-Girl Fellowships (Registration fees) for local Female participants to attend International workshops like APAN meeting, bdNOG Workshop/Conference, btNOG Workshop/Conference, SANOG Workshop/Conference, APNIC Conference and CCNA Academic course in Bangladesh- KUET/ CUET/ RUET / DUET.
- 3. Online webinar course for Asi@Connect Female Network Engineers. 5 DLE Courses instructed by Expert professionals from Network Industry for the topics like Basic Campus Network Design, Routing and Switching: IPv4/IPv6, Network Monitoring and Management, Network Security, Wireless network Design, etc.
- 4. Two International Workshop on “Campus Network Design and Security” to Strengthen Asi@Connect TechGirl.
- 5. Three Local Workshop on deploying Future IT-Girl: “Workshop on Networking Basics, Routing and Switching” to Strengthen Asi@Connect Future IT-Girl (4th year undergraduate/Masters Female Students of EEE/CSE/IT faculty from Bangladeshi Technical Universities)
- 6. Two International Workshop on deploying Future IT-Girl: “Workshop on Wireless Networking and Cyber Security” to Strengthen Asi@Connect Future IT-Girl (4th year undergraduate/Masters Female Students of EEE/CSE/IT faculty from Bangladeshi Technical Universities)
